AIDS Government Conspiracy Theory

There have been many AIDS government conspiracy theory rumors populating the online community for a long time now and many people have repeatedly blamed the government for inventing the virus as a means to eradicate the third world populations. These rumors are at the best unsupported opinions of anti-establishmentarian figures fuelled by the government’s poor reaction to AIDS worldwide. We can see how these types of theory are quickly developed when the government’s reaction to AIDS in Africa has been so slow and Africa’s own government reluctant to raise AIDS awareness and give any means of support.

The AIDS government conspiracy theory has been given new light recently when on Tuesday 18th March 2008 Barack Obama leader of the American Democratic Party reprimanded his former pastor over his recent rumor mongering sermons. Reverend Jeremiah Wright supposedly gave sermons in which he blamed the government for creating a racist state and inventing the HIV virus as a means of “genocide against people of color”.

Government involvement is not the only theory behind AIDS although it is the most prevalent one today. The AIDS government conspiracy theory seems to have originated in the early days of AIDS around 1986. A pamphlet was printed which called “AIDS: USA home-made evil” which claimed that HIV was invented using HTLV – 1 and Visna which was used on prison inmates. Alongside the many different theories out there today there are also different theories about the government involvement and which viruses were used to create HIV. In another theory the Visna virus was added to an experimental Hepatitis B vaccine which was then administered in New York and San Francisco. Others believe the virus was created in New York and that the World Health Organization spread the virus intentionally under the guise of the smallpox eradication scheme.
